Stop Handle Operation
By installing a handle lockout it becomes physcially impossible to move the handle of a switch, thus preventing an energy source from being switched on.
During maintenance procedures, this type of lockout can often be essential in protecting the lives of those working on the repairs. If the machinery was to be suddenly energised, particularly nasty accidents could suddenly happen, and performing LOTO correctly stops this from taking place.
The handle lockouts can also be secured in place by using padlocks.
