Martindale LOKKITGAS1 Gas Engineer Lockout Kit

The Martindale LOKKITGAS1 Gas Engineer Lockout Kit is specifically designed for gas engineers and technicians requiring a method by which to secure fixed wired appliances such as cookers, boilers, hand dryers and water heaters. It can be used to maintain compliance with the Gas Safe Register Technical Bulletin and Electricity at Work Regulations. To this end, it includes:

• 1x Martindale PAD10R Padlock with a Unique Key
• 1x Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock
• 1x Martindale LOK10 Yellow Pushpin MCB Lock (10mm spacing)
• 1x Martindale LOK11 Red Pushpin MCB Lock (8mm spacing)
• 1x Martindale LOK7 Black Slim Line Isolation Lock
• 1x Martindale TAG4 ‘Equipment Locked Out’ Tag (can be written on)

Using the aforementioned instruments, the individual is able to ensure his/her safety and that of maintenance and service personnel, as he/she can secure circuits to which gas appliances are connected prior to the commencement of inspections and/or repairs.

The included Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock, MCBs and Martindale PAD10R Padlock can all be used to secure fixed wired appliances. The Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock is optimised for securing single gang fused spur connection units complying with BS 1363-4 and to this end is compatible with an array of fused spurs. It is also designed to accommodate flexible outlet cabling from the fuse and cable trunking connections. Its polypropylene constructions ensure that it doesn’t feature any metal parts.

The Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock can be used in the following way:

1.)    Open the fuse tray

2.)    Remove the fuse

3.)    Secure the LOKFS1 using the screw heads on the existing facia plate

4.)    Lock off using a compatible padlock such as the included Martindale PAD10R Padlock

The gas engineer/ technician does not require additional tools to carry out the above procedure.

Locking out fixed wired appliances using the Martindale LOKFS1 Universal Fused Spur Isolation Lock inhibits the re-insertion of the appliance's fuse and, therefore, prevents its re-activation.
