The ABUS 83WPIB/53 Hardened Alloy Padlock differs from the ABUS 83WP Hardened Alloy Padlocks (available here) concerning its body and shackle composition. Unlike the 83WPs, which are composed of hardened steel alloy bodies and shackles, the 83WPIB is made from a plated brass body and a stainless steel shackle.

This padlock is fully weatherproof. It features surface protection, shackle seals, and cylinder cover all of which work to protect the padlock from corrosion, rust, and adverse weather conditions.

In addition to this, its double-bolted shackle and high-precision pin tumbler with patented pinning window ensure that this padlock is resistant to picking. The ABUS 83WPIP/53 Hardened Alloy Padlock is also self-locking as well as key retaining, a feature that helps to reduce the risk of accidentally leaving the padlock open.

These security and weather-resistant features ensure that the ABUS 83WPIB/53 Hardened Alloy Padlock is suitable for securing items of a higher value and/or which are at a greater risk of theft, particularly within challenging environments, such as in coastal regions and port areas.
